Bit | Decimalvalue | Function | Comment |
0 | 1 | Reverse direction | Normal (OFF=0) or reverse (ON=1) direction of travel of the loco. |
1 | 2 | 28/128 speed steps | 14 speed steps, mostly obsolete, (OFF=0) or 28/128 speed steps (ON=1). Recommended "ON" unless 14 speed steps are required. |
2 | 4 | DC compatible | Deny (OFF=0) or allow (ON=1) loco on analog DC track. Usually recommended "OFF", ounless the loco is also to be run on DC track. |
3 | 8 | Railcom | Railcom (OFF=0 / ON=1) Lenz, Zimo and some ESU. If you do not use Railcom on the loco, leave it in "OFF". |
4 | 16 | Complex speed curve | Simple "min, mid, max" (CV2, CV6 and CV5) speed curve (OFF=0) or complex (from CV67 to CV94) speed curve (ON=1) |
5 | 32 | Long loco address | Short adress on CV1 (OFF=0) or long adress on CV17 and CV18 (ON=1). |
6 | 64 | Not normally used | |
7 | 128 | Not normally used |
How do you calculate to get the right value in CV29?
For example, CV29 has a default value of 14 which is due to the fact that if you add up all the decimal values that should have the function "ON" 2 + 4 + 8 = 14.
